Village Nest — open kitchen with a quartz island, walnut joinery and a caged pendant

The vision

Name

Village Nest

Status

Completed 2024

Location

Koottupatha, Palakkad

Architect

idea design, Kochi

Scope

New build — apartment residences

Village Nest holds a quiet corner of Koottupatha behind a pair of winged gateposts and an automatic timber-slat gate. The arrival is deliberately residential: a paved court, planting at the wall, and the building's name glowing overhead.

Village Nest — granite stair and lift lobby with polished marble floor
Village Nest — vanity with caged pendants, timber battens and a round mirror
Village Nest — dining area opening to the balcony
Village Nest — the gated entrance at dusk, sign lit above the facade

A building is a hundred quiet decisions. Here, each one landed exactly where it was drawn.

Philosophy

Shaped in step with idea design, Kochi, Village Nest reflects a working relationship where design intent and buildability were resolved together — junctions workshopped on paper, samples approved before procurement, and site questions answered by the people who drew the details.

Project highlights

The facade is organised in vertical bands — deep chocolate panels against pale render — with recessed balconies and screened openings doing the climate's work. On the roof, a steel-framed pavilion turns the terrace into usable evening space.

Apartments, delivered with the same one-team discipline as our houses: structure, services, and finishes resolved together.
